Powering Through

Times have not been pleasant, no stable living situation exists for me and it has been taxing on my mental health for the past couple years just as graduate work has been. Still, I have chosen to continue to pursue my dreams in spite of the hand dealt.

I never really wanted much when it came to a living situation. Simply a room, electronics and calm. Not unreasonable things to want. However it is clear despite living at the advent of post-singularity life that scarcity mentality is still dominant. It always seems like there is an oppressive wall around everything and everyone. It is hard to describe with English, as it is more a noise of extreme unyielding anguish than anything else.

So what keeps me insisting on existing? It is in part a form of spite to existence, but in truth it is less cynical. It is my belief that I must produce and create and that this is what I exist to do and am not properly existing if I do not. Such outlook has been mentally taxing yet it is all I can think when I am not lost in a storm of distraction from an unfavorable environment and a hostile world around me. It is the ember that keeps glowing despite all attempts by this hostile reality to extinguish it.

And glow it shall, ignite a fire even.

So what is all this for anyways?

Let me show you…

The above is a node graphs representing the revised setting bible I worked on in prior weeks using Obsidian’s mindgarden. It is a galactic sci-fi setting that has a massive backlog of lore, concepts, themes, worlds and species that are interconnected into multiple civilization clusters. Building on this in the past was what yielded me the drive to make large independent projects such as Exospace and Project Stranger. And now I seek to change strategy to smaller projects that present more engagement with regards to game play and fun. Please do join with me on the matter, you will get mind boggling madness and a galaxy of unfathomable thoughts to envelop your waking mind. And with game play created by someone who has an eye for game design cultivated over multiple years of work on multiple game projects in all the trial and error that such experiences have wrought upon me.

And may the future burn bright!
